Is It Possible To Automate Accounting Job In Locked Default Windows Environment
I wanted to ask this before I go ahead and try to hire an Automation expert on UpWork to remotely go in and try to automate my job in a restricted Windows 10 environment. My job is extremely repetitive, just a little quirks.
Programs I work with on daily basis and job routines are:
- Adobe Acrobat Pro (Can convert PDFs into text, thank God)
Filing in a PDF with fill in form boxes, from information from another PDF.
Combining and renaming excel files in a format.
Creating an Excel sheet where I basically enter information from another Excel sheet.
Creating same Excel sheet where I enter information from PDF’s Invoices, (Invoice Number, and Invoice Amt)
- Sending Outlooks emails in Template form
I could get the information from an PDF or excel, is it even possible to create macros in a simple email program such as Outlook and try to bridge the gap and automate with Python?
The concern I have is that extracting all information and pasting it into the correct place from the PDF might be hard cause not all invoices are created equal in with regards to the information, i.e. Invoice Number could be Invoice, Invoice #, Invoice Number, Invoice No. etc., and same for Invoice Amount variants.
Also, IT has restricted the computers, and all of the non-default applications that come with Windows 10 is bloatware which I can’t find a way to get around deleting and was interested in doing so. (Was curious, if its worth learning to pick up the skill to use the computer the way it’s meant to be used, unrestricted from company’s IT access settings, or if it’s worth it or not cause it’s possible to get in trouble with IT or create stability issues with computer itself).
